iPhone Card Payment

I have seen this as an alternative to the usual solutions https://www.izettle.com/gb/

There's no contract or upfront charges, just a flat percentage cut of 2.75%

On first inspection it all looks a Viable alternative to waiting for customer to find a chequebook, and visiting the bank to pay in.

If you go to a site called huddlebuy even the card reader is free?

Does anyone have any experience?

What can a locksmith do?

locksmith WilmslowMost people think about locksmiths when they’re locked out of their property!

This is just one of the services that a professional locksmith can offer but there are plenty of others too.
For example, if you’ve just moved into a new house then the first thing you should do is change the locks. After all, you don’t know who’s had copies of the keys in the past so why risk it? Rather than purchasing the locks yourselves from the local DIY store (as research has shown that the level of advice available at these stores is dangerously low) then you should contact your local MLA licensed locksmith to come and supply and fit appropriate locks for you. They will know the locks you’ll need so as not to invalidate your insurance. Of course it’s not only doors that need locks but windows too – so make sure your MLA licensed locksmith fits your window locks too.
Cutting keys is another area of experience for locksmiths. Why get your keys cut anywhere other than by an experienced, professional locksmiths? But have they been vetted? Make sure who you use has been independently accredited as vetted, inspected and competent for the job at hand.
But there are plenty of other services that locksmiths can provide
knutsforth locksmiths
 • Security upgrades (additional security such as door bolts, lock upgrades, anti snap cylinders etc.)
 • Safes – make sure you get a safe that has been professionally specified for your needs and is fitted properly. If this is not done then a thief could walk out with your safe!
 • Auto work – some locksmiths offer an auto locksmithing service whereby they can get you into your vehicle if you’ve locked the keys in there or cut (and where necessary programme) a new key for your vehicle.
 • Access control – some professional locksmiths will be able to specify, supply and install electronic access control systems
Don’t forget that locksmiths can work on domestic and commercial properties so if you have a security requirement for your business then make sure you contact your local MLA licensed locksmith.

K Midget for sale

Picture attached, I have since removed the rollover bar but of course still have it.

Bought Midget in September 2007 from F.M. Sports Cars in Warrington for £3500

Registered April 1972 so tax exempt, MOt’d till Aug 29 2013, no advisories.
Last serviced summer 2012, done no more than 150 miles since.

Originally fitted with fast road 1380cc A series engine.

I acquired a complete Rover 200Vi with the 1800cc VVC engine.

Through 2011 the basic mechanical changes were made by Totally Triumph
and then it was shipped to Frontline Developments for completion.

As I told you a ridiculously expensive undertaking, monies spent for which
I have receipts are as follows :-

Frontline Conversion Kit                                  £ 3236.37
Totally Triumph fitting                                     £ 2464.00
Frontline finishing/commissioning                 £ 3196.93
Frontline rear damper kit                                £ 300.00

sub Total                                                         £ 9197.30

The car produces just over 150BHP for which I have the rolling road printout.

It is frighteningly fast, at around 225 BHP per tonne better than my SLK350 !

In addition I have a full interior trim kit mainly from Moss which comprises
door trims, carpets, new seats, walnut dash etc. All brand new and still in
boxes.
Cost then £1193.18, to buy now over £1700, do not know why the increase.

If you total it up, including the initial purchase I have spent nearly £ 14,000
very frightening, I must have been mad !

Snags – Not the best of starters ( runs on Emerald ECU)
Rattle from clutch arm which I cannot rectify, Frontline say it is
                nothing to worry about.
Although a full trim kit it would need a new hood in beige to match.

I fully realise I am not getting to get anywhere near the £14 K back that I have
spent but am open to serious offers. I do not think you will find another Midget
like this off the race track.

This car is not for the faint hearted !

Assa Abloy's monopoly gets ever larger !

from wikipedia:
The Assa Abloy Group was formed in 1994 when ASSA AB was detached from Swedish security company Securitas AB. Shortly thereafter the Finnish high-security lock manufacturer Abloy Oy, a subsidiary of the Finnish company Wärtsilä, was acquired. The company was introduced to the Stockholm Stock Exchange later the same year.

 • 1999 - The acquisition of Effeff Fritz Fuss in Germany enabled Assa Abloy to sell electromechanical locks to the German market. Assa Abloy acquires Fichet in France, manufacturer of high security locks.
 • 2000 – The global lock group Yale Intruder Security is acquired. Assa Abloy acquires HID, a proximity identification access controls company. The acquisition added electronic identification to the Assa Abloy’s product portfolio.
 • 2001 – Assa Abloy participates in Volvo Ocean Race.
 • 2002 – Finish at second in the Volvo Ocean Race. Besam, a Swedish automatic door solutions company is acquired.
 • 2003 - Carl-Henric Svanberg leaves his position as President and CEO of Assa Abloy for a position as President and CEO of telecommunications company Ericsson and is replaced by Bo Dankis.
 • 2005 - Bo Dankis leaves his position as President and CEO of Assa Abloy and is replaced by Johan Molin, previous president of the industrial group Nilfisk-Advance Nilfisk.
 • 2006 - Fargo Electronics is acquired. Fargo develops systems for safe issuing of ID cards, including card printers, peripheral equipment and software.
 • 2007 - Baodean manufacturer of high-security locks in China and iRevo, supplier of digital door locks in Korea are acquired. In 2007, in total, seventeen companies joined the Group.

With the acquisition of 4Front on 27 December last year (more of which anon), Assa Abloy has now acquired 100 companies since Johan Molin joined the group as president and CEO in 2005.
Despite two major recessions, the Assa Abloy Group has experienced impressive growth since the beginning of 2005. Sales have increased by 84% from SEK 25 billion to SEK 46 billion (rolling 12 months per September 2012).
During the same period, Assa Abloy's operating income (EBIT*) has doubled from SEK 3.7 billion to SEK 7.4 billion and earnings per share* have increased by 114% from SEK 6.32 to SEK 13.53.
"The strategic growth target for Assa Abloy is to grow 10% on an annual basis through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions," explained Molin.
"We have a focused acquisition strategy in three directions: gaining access to new geographic markets, adding new and complementary products to our portfolio and obtaining cutting-edge technologies in various key fields," said Molin.
"The foundation for Assa Abloy's rapid acquisitions expansion has been the group's ability to identify and build good relationships with potential acquisitions, effectively acquire them and successfully integrate them fast into the group. What's even more exciting is that virtually all acquisitions have developed very well and contributed significantly to the profitability of the Assa Abloy Group."
Continuing the theme, Molin explained: "Assa Abloy completed another 11 acquisitions during the first nine months 2012, adding SEK 3.45 billion (8.3%) to our total sales. In 2011, 18 acquisitions added 17% to total sales. Looking ahead, Assa Abloy will continue to implement its strategy of proactive acquisitions across all three strategic directions, and geographically speaking primarily in the emerging markets in Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South America. These markets already account for 25% of the Assa Abloy Group's total sales and are expected to approach 50% by 2025."
Since its formation in 1994, Assa Abloy has grown from a regional company into an international group with some 44,000 employees and sales of more than SEK 46 billion. The Group operates in more than 60 countries and organises sales all over the world.
All figures for 2012 relate to the 12 months rolling per 30 September 2012

About the acquisition of 4Front

Assa Abloy has acquired the US company 4Front, a leader in docking systems. 4Front offers a complete product range around docking systems as well as a large variety of accessories.
Johan Molin stated: "With its leading brands, 4Front is yet another strategic entry to the important North American market in entrance automation. I welcome this addition that further reinforces the Assa Abloy Group's leadership in entrance automation, growing from SEK 3 billion in 2008 to more than SEK 12 billion pro forma in 2012."

Damp weather

Our locksmith was called to a home in Knutsford, as a customer was unable to open a wooden door with their keys. The door had dropped slightly and warped partly due to the change in temperature recently. Our locksmith was able to open the door fairly quickly then he adjusted the keep on the frame, so it was in line with the lock and easier to open.

Quite often locks fitted to wooden doors can become stiffer and increasingly harder to use as the weather changes. If you notice this happening to your locks then it is a good time to check if the lock is lining up correctly before it gets any worse.

If you are looking for a locksmith in Kuntsford or a locksmith in WA16
please give us a call on 01625 250 275 or 07792 517 113 to see how we can help you.
