I have had a contract almost constantly with orange since 1996
I have been using an iphone for 4 years (1st a iPhone 3gs, and a 4S)
I was prompted to update my software to IOS6 last month.
have just had a big shock. Orange have sent me an invoice for my
contract, showing I have gone over my allowance of 750mb to a total of
2302mb! a total bill of £ 421
I have been using the iPhone normally as i have been for the last few
years with no video. just email and a pod cast occasionally. A normal
monthly usage would be around 450 - 500mb.
I phoned orange yesterday as soon as I opened the invoice, they told me
there were massive downloads on Oct 11 during the afternoon (whilst I
was out working). I think this has something to do with the phone
updating to ios6, which i did around that time. there seems to be a lot
of similar stories on the web attributing high mobile data to bugs in
ios6.
Why did orange not tell me i had used my bundled data?
has anyone had any success in having orange remove these high charges?
since last Monday (new billing period) it shows i have used 680 of my 800mb!
i phoned orange tech, who said i have used .2mb since last monday!??
advised to take to apple store for a check, but no appointments for over a week..
advised to restore iphone to make sure there are no corrupted applications..
( which i have started just now)
the first thing that happened was itunes said something like "there are new carrier settings - do you wamt to proceed?"
